The Minister informed the Assembly that while bilateral repatriation had not yet started, more than 350 displaced persons from camps in Cox’s Bazar had returned to Myanmar’s Rakhine state on their own volition through unofficial channels.장관은 양국간 송환이 아직 시작되지 않은 가운데 콕스 바자르의 수용소에서 350명 이상의 실향민이 비공식 채널을 통해 미얀마 라카인주로 자진 귀국했다고 의회에 알렸다.

Ensuring accountability 책임성 보장

In his remarks, the Minister also said that his Government shares the concern over allegations of human rights violations in Rakhine and takes them seriously.이 장관은 또한 자신의 발언에서 라카인의 인권 침해 의혹에 대한 정부의 우려를 공유하고 있으며 이를 심각하게 받아들이고 있다고 말했다.

He recalled Aung San Suu Kyi, the State Counsellor of Myanmar, who told a public hearing at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), in December 2019, that if war crimes or human rights violations were committed, they will be investigated and prosecuted by Myanmar’s criminal justice system.그는 2019년 12월 국제형사재판소(ICJ)에서 열린 공개변론에서 전쟁범죄나 인권침해가 저질러지면 미얀마 형사사법체계에 의해 수사 기소될 것이라고 밝힌 아웅산 수지 미얀마 국가평의관을 떠올렸다.
